The bow comp test includes a training session beforehand to demonstrate and teach the safe use of projectiles.
There is no written document detailing the requirements and restrictions of the test, as it is not possible to set down in writing all the situations and/or conditions in which bow use is safe or unsafe. Common sense and good judgement are required and you will need to satisfy the tester that you can exercise these.
All that said, the following is a non-exhaustive list of some guidelines:
* Bows may NEVER be used as melee weapons.
* You should avoid aiming projectiles at the face or other delicate areas of the anatomy.
* Some weather conditions may make bows unusable.
* Bows should not be used indoors.
* Projectiles should not be "arched" over people in order to strike targets behind them.
* You must always follow the instructions of a Referee or Marshal with regard to use of these weapons
