Yup, once per year... I'd consider looking at what else you can get for that 10 osps.

If you're just after the currency, perhaps look at how much you can earn with another 10 osp skill, like one of the ones that lets you make something that can then be sold on.

If you're after the title alone (maybe moving it up to master later one) then it's worth it, as I've been advised that it might help with research requests if you can IC afford to fund it over the winter.

Just to officially confirm what other people have said, yes the "income" skills (Apprentice <x>, Journeyman <x>, and Master <x>) only provide income once a year, and do not count towards the limit of 12 skills (although you continue to be limited by the amount that will physically fit on your character card).

These skills may also provide other benefits on an ad hoc basis at ref discretion, but you should not rely on this happening.


Anticipating some common followup questions - yes, it's a meagre amount of money; yes we're aware of this; yes, it is possible that the amounts will be revised upwards in future; no, I can't guarantee that, or give you any indication of how likely it is to happen.

My guess would be that there'll be news on any changes to the rules, or rumoured changes to the rules, when there's news. So in the absence of any announcement of news there is no news, and any rumours which may exist remain just that. If there's ever anything to be announced, it'll be announced, and if there's not, it won't.
